How usage is measured and billed
Two meters, and both of them are yours to check in the portal every day. The month's invoice is the sum of the days you already saw, priced on your plan. Nothing on it will be new to you.
Participant minutes
One person, in a room, for one minute. Ten viewers watching a one-hour show is 600 participant minutes; the host is one more participant. Counted from the moment a participant joins to the moment they leave, in seconds, and summed per UTC day. A room with nobody in it costs nothing.
Data out
Media sent from our servers to your users: every video and audio track each participant subscribes to. Measured at the network interface and apportioned to the tenants that were active, so it is an estimate, and it is labelled as one everywhere it appears. Data in (what your hosts publish to us) is never charged.
When a day is final
A day's figures can move for 12 hours after it ends (UTC), because a session that crosses midnight is split across the two days it touched and the second half is only known when it ends. After that the day is final and never changes. The portal marks each day counting or final.
The invoice
- Issued once the month's last day is final: the 1st of the next month, 12:00 UTC at the earliest.
- Plan price, plus overage on each meter past what the plan includes. Overage costs at most 20% more per unit than your plan rate, on every tier.
- It appears on your Billing page and we send it to your billing contact. Pay by bank transfer with the invoice number as the reference; the portal shows each payment as it is recorded.
- Nothing else is metered: rooms, participants, API calls and data in are all free.
